HOMEX is at the forefront with services for homeowners and real estate investors who have pride of ownership and a desire to maximize the investment and equity in their properties, but lack the time and specialized knowledge to undertake all the maintenance a home requires. Our commitment is to provide customers with the best resources available so they can stay informed and be successful property owners.

Cost of care vs. cost of repair

Think about all the vital elements of your home: electrical, heating and cooling systems, plumbing, interior finishes, floors, windows and doors, cabinets and more. What if you could get an entire year of proactive home maintenance service for less than the cost of one emergency repair? For example, in the case of water damage to a 2,000 sf home, a year of preventive maintenance would be one-third of the cost of repair.

"Routine maintenance protects the value of your home … What's more, maintenance can save you money since small problems that are neglected can easily turn into bigger problems that will be much more costly to fix later."

Preparing to sell your home? Plan ahead and save.

Lock in affordable service now because the rising price of oil, labor, building goods and materials will continue to drive up service prices across the board.

The Advantages of Planned Maintenance

Every part of your home has unique seasonal and periodic maintenance requirements. HOMEX provides many preventive services on a quarterly, semi-annual or annual schedule with these unique requirements and others in mind. Here are just a few examples of materials, equipment and systems that should be proactively inspected and regularly serviced to keep your home running smoothly, safely and cost-effectively. Plan ahead for pre-season services, and avoid paying premium prices for unplanned work during peak seasons.

Spring Check attic fan to make sure it's clean and operational, service furnace including filters and check all air ducts. Refill water softener. Inspect floors for wear, water damage, loose tiles or boards, etc.
Summer Check window and door weather stripping and sealing, service smoke alarms, service water heater, check septic tank, check fences, gates and retaining walls, etc.
Fall Clean out debris from gutters before and after the rainy season.
Put your air conditioning 'to bed'. Check furnace, thermostats, fireplace damper and chimney, set waterlines and hose bibs to protect from winter freeze, etc.
Winter Inspect fire extinguisher, clean air conditioner filters, replace water filters including carbon cartridges, vacuum refrigerator coils, etc.
Quarterly Touch up painting, lube all doors and maintain tracks on closet doors.
Semi-Annually Check and insulate water pipes as needed, drain water heater to remove debris and refill. Re-caulk sinks, tubs, showers.
Annually Seal all grout on granite, marble and tile surfaces, test fire sprinklers (water flow), check roof gutters and downspouts for obstructions.
